Great Idea: Resign Before You Run For A New Job

8 07 2009

“Many just accept that lame duck status, and they hit that road,” Palin said. “They draw a paycheck. They kind of milk it. And I’m not going to put Alaskans through that.”

I wish all politicians were required quit their current job before they ran for the next job. Why waste my taxpayer dollars on your salary while you are focusing on your next job. Look at Obama – who was so focused on running for U.S. Senate all he could muster up were “Present” votes for Illinois legislation. What a waste of taxpayer money.

And if you have to quit your current job, and you lose running for the next, maybe that is a sign that you weren’t that good to begin with.

This could clean alot of things up….

I’ll Take the Republican Bench – Anyday

7 07 2009

You sure do hear the Liberals say “there is no leadership in the Republican party” – as if we can have a convention now and elect a candidate for President today.

What strikes me as funny is how anyone who is a Democrat can remotely take pride in their “leadership”.

Remove all food and beverage from you mouth in case you spew while you consider the depth of the Democratic bench:

Al “Whoops I found some ballots in my trunk!”Franken?

Nancy “The CIA never told me about waterboarding in my waterboarding briefing”Pelosi?

Harry “so what if the federal government owns 80% of my state”Ried?

Chris“so what if I got a good deal on my house and approved AIG bonuses -don’t ask me about my Ireland cottage” Dodd

Barack “your taxes will not be raised one cent” Obama?

Hillary “I need to break something – anything – in my body to get out of travelling with Barack” Clinton?

Ted “wait 10 hours before telling the cops you just killed a woman” Kennedy?

If that is the Liberal bench, I’ll take the Republican bench – anyday!

The White House Pig Roast

1 07 2009

Now we know the secret on how to pass a pork bill that will tax energy consumers: have a pig roast.

Politico has a great story on how during last week’s White House pig roast, the Democrats worked and bullied legislators into voting for the cap and trade bill.

Read the story here.

Hey D.C. Kids: Good Education Has To Wait

10 05 2009

In his first 100 days, Obama announced plans to cancel the popular (and successful) school voucher program in Washington D.C.  The outcry from this has been noticed, and Obama decided to change his position.

He’s not going to kill the program now….he’ll just kill it later.

He will discontinue the vouchers after children who are currently enrolled, and thriving, in private schools have transitioned out of those schools. That includes the children who are enrolled in the same school that Obama’s own children are enrolled.

So children who are entering the Washtington D.C. school system will never get the opportunities that others have had. Sorry kids –

The best summary of this comes from the RNC’s  Michael Steele:

Rather than stand up to do what is right, President  Obama, who has written two books—one with a title of ‘Hope’ and the other of ‘Dreams’—has pledged to deny the hopes and dreams of poor, minority families who simply seek the opportunity that I had, the opportunity that he himself had, and the opportunity that we all seek for our own children—a better education.

REPEATABLE: Children of D.C. don’t worry: you only need to wait until the next election and the hopeful return of a better President to get your education hopes back. Education is not a game and even in tight fiscal times, successful programs such as this should not have been touched.

100 Days; 100 Mistakes

27 04 2009

Enough said.  It’s been 100 days for President Obama. I miss Jimmy Carter….

REPEATABLE: I wish I could repeat all of these, but I can’t. There are just too many.

Obama’s Earth Day Fuel Blowout

24 04 2009

On Earth Day, April 22, Obama flew Marine One to Air Force One to Iowa to give a speech, saying we need a “new era of energy exploration in America.” He blew through 9,000 gallons of fuel for the round trip.

REPEATABLE: A new era of energy exploration could begin in the hanger at Andrews Air Force Base by keeping the big airplane parked and making your speech on TV instead.

Torture Hypocrite

23 04 2009

Obama is having a hard time…again. This is torture just to watch.obama-meets-chavez-41709

He wants to prosecute the Bush administration for torture policies, but now he doesn’t.  He declassifies CIA memos that outline the torture procedures used on the most vile terrorists, but does not declassify the CIA documents that show the outcome of intelligence – and the terror attacks prevented – that were gained from the technique. He wants to close Gitmo in Cuba but announced it without a plan on what to do with the high value terrorists being held there.

And yet he has no problem sharing a brotherly handgrip, shoulder touch and ear-to-ear grin when meeting one of the worlds most notorious torturers – Hugo Chavez. (April 17)  The Venezuelan dictator tortures his opposition leaders – human rights groups have reported for years. Obama welcomes him with the vigor of seeing Grandpa waitin’ on the porch when coming home for a visit. Worse – he accepted an anti-America book from Chavez  and says it was a “nice gesture.”

Obama is lost without polling data to tell him what to do next. Read more at Politico.

At least he didn’t bow to Chavez, as he did to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia – another leader who beats women.

REPEATABLE: Obama plays to the left – saying torture must go – but embraces world leaders who use the technique.
